Key Release Highlights

Multi-Service Point Queue Routing

New Feature

Send a patient to multiple departments simultaneously directly from your Queue Console, eliminating manual room-by-room re-queueing.

Sequential Mode (Step-by-Step Pipeline)

Sequential

Set a multi-step sequence (e.g. 1. Triage ➔ 2. Laboratory ➔ 3. Consultation ➔ 4. Pharmacy). Patients automatically advance to the next recommended room as each department completes service.

Parallel Mode (Concurrent Workflows)

Parallel

Queue a patient to multiple departments at once (e.g. Laboratory + Pharmacy + Billing). Whichever department becomes free first can call and attend to the patient without blocking other parallel queues.

Care Plan Override Safety Overlay

Safety

A smart warning dialog pops up if a staff member attempts a transfer that omits or bypasses pre-scheduled care steps created by colleagues, displaying full pipeline details and clinician attribution.

Detailed Breakdown & Clinical Impact

1. Quick 3-Step How-To Guide (Where to Click)

Routing a patient to multiple departments takes less than 10 seconds right from your Queue Console:

  • Step 1: While attending to a patient, click "Finalize & Send Patient" (or click "Transfer / Queue Patient" on any ticket).
  • Step 2: At the top of the transfer window, check your preferred mode: "Sequential 🔄" (for ordered steps) or "Parallel ⚡" (for concurrent departments).
  • Step 3: Tick off all the departments the patient needs to visit, then click the blue "🚀 Queue Patient to X Stations" button!

2. Real-World Facility Scenarios (Which Mode Should I Pick?)

Depending on the patient's clinical needs, choose the mode that fits your facility flow:

  • Scenario A — Standard Doctor Visit (Use Sequential 🔄): Send the patient to Triage first, then Consultation Room 1, then Pharmacy. The patient goes to Triage immediately. Once Triage finishes, AfyaFlow automatically moves them to Consultation Room 1's waiting list without anyone needing to re-queue them!
  • Scenario B — Lab & Pharmacy Same-Day Visit (Use Parallel ⚡): Queue the patient to both Laboratory and Pharmacy at the same time. Whichever department becomes available first can call and serve the patient.
  • Scenario C — Ad-Hoc Emergency / STAT Referral: Check the "🔥 Priority" toggle in the top bar while selecting stations. The patient will jump to the top of every queue they are sent to!

3. What to Do If a "Care Plan Override Warning" Appears

If a colleague (e.g. Dr. John Doe) already scheduled planned steps for a patient, and you select a new destination that skips those steps, a warning box will pop up displaying the original planned sequence:

  • Click "Cancel & Re-Include" if you want to keep the original planned steps and add your new department to the list.
  • Click "Confirm & Override" if you intentionally want to replace their old plan with your new destination.

4. Summary: Sequential vs Parallel Made Simple

• Sequential Mode (Ordered Steps): 1st station finishes ➔ Patient automatically moves to 2nd station ➔ 2nd station finishes ➔ Patient moves to 3rd station. • Parallel Mode (Concurrent Stations): Patient appears on multiple department waiting lists simultaneously. Best for Lab, Pharmacy, and Billing.
